Mimmo Rotella: Retrospective at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa

Palazzo Ducale hosts a comprehensive retrospective tracing more than sixty years of Mimmo Rotella's artistic practice. Produced by MetaMorfosi Eventi in partnership with the Fondazione Mimmo Rotella, the exhibition gathers over 100 works from public institutions and private collections.

The show, set in the Sottoporticato rooms, presents key phases of Rotella's work, highlighting his experimental approach and his significance within late 20th-century contemporary art.

  • Works on display: more than 100 pieces lent by museums, foundations and private collectors.
  • Partners: Fondazione Mimmo Rotella, MART, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Heidi Horten Collection, Collezione Intesa Sanpaolo, among others.
  • Highlights: restored works, video material and archival documents, including a fragment and a recording related to a 2004 action in Genoa.
  • Production: organized and produced by MetaMorfosi Eventi.

The exhibition invites reflection on Rotella's engagement with the image and the visual culture that anticipated the digital age, offering perspectives on the circulation and transformation of imagery in contemporary contexts.

Practical information: the retrospective is on view at Palazzo Ducale in the Sottoporticato and remains open to the public until 13 September 2026. For ticketing, opening hours and guided visits, please consult Palazzo Ducale's official channels.
