Milano Art Week 2026: quick guide to miart and city events

From 17 to 19 April 2026, Milan becomes the hub for contemporary art with miart at its center. The fair debuts a new venue and frames itself as a platform that connects historical works with current research. Below are seven key highlights to plan your visit.

  • New venue — South Wing, Allianz MiCo: for its thirtieth edition the fair moves from Fieramilanocity to the South Wing complex, a shift that changes how exhibition spaces shape the visitor experience.
  • The theme “New Directions”: this year’s title encourages a reconsideration of the fair’s role beyond market exchange, prioritizing contexts that foster curiosity and deeper engagement.
  • Three-tier exhibition structure: the Emergent, Established and Established Anthology sections create a dialogue between experimental practices, established positions and historical re-evaluations.
  • Marco Fusinato — solo show at PAC: a major exhibition to catch during the art week, presenting the artist’s performative and installation-based work in a focused institutional setting.
  • Focus on emerging galleries: curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini, a section gathers 29 international galleries with site-specific projects and intimate installations, including Italian spaces such as Triangolo showcasing sculptural work.
  • Movements — images in motion: a new initiative dedicated to video art and the relationship between cinema and visual arts, presented in collaboration with a noted art film festival.
  • Awards, acquisitions and institutional partnerships: the edition strengthens ties with museums and patrons via prizes and acquisition funds that support photography, performance and experimental research beyond the fair format.

Practical tip: Milano Art Week features around 400 events—plan visits in advance, check venues and opening times, and use the fair’s city-wide network to explore collateral exhibitions and performances.
