Meldola marks 80 years of the Republic and women's suffrage

The Municipality of Meldola has organised a cultural and civic programme to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic and of women's suffrage, featuring public talks, a documentary screening and an exhibition on the women of the Constituent Assembly.

• 22 May 2026, 20:30 – Presentation of the book Lessico per la Repubblica. Dal Risorgimento all’integrazione europea by Maurizio Ridolfi at Sala “Nella Versari” (Piazza Felice Orsini 12). The author will be in conversation with Prof. Dino Mengozzi. Institutional greetings by Cultural Councillor Michele Drudi.

• 28 May 2026, 20:45 – Screening of the documentary Senza Rossetto by Silvana Profeta at Teatro “G.A. Dragoni” (Via XXIV Maggio). Introduction by Ines Briganti (Institute for the History of the Resistance and Contemporary Italy, Province of Forlì-Cesena). Greetings from Mayor Roberto Cavallucci and Councillor for Equal Opportunities Giovanna Piolanti. The evening will recall the first women elected in Meldola.

• 6–20 June 2026 – The itinerant exhibition Libere e sovrane (ANPI Rovereto) at the Municipal Library “F. Torricelli” (via G. Mazzini). The display presents the lives of the 21 women of the Constituent Assembly through illustrated panels by Michela Nanut and is aimed at schools, associations and the public.

The programme seeks to foster public reflection on constitutional values, democratic participation and the role of women in Italy’s institutional history.
