Mathias Pds unveils new Nature Poetry installation at Parco Desio

Street artist Mathias Pds, known for poetic interventions in public spaces, has created a new site-specific installation near Parco Desio. The piece stretches for almost 15 metres and features the word "Italy" constructed from newspaper.

The central word is encircled by two taut threads held between two hands: a blue thread coming from the west and a red thread from the east. These visual cues are intended to suggest the tension between major geopolitical blocs and the symbolic position of the nation.

Why visit

  • Size and materials: nearly 15 metres in length; newspaper and colored threads.
  • Concept: a symbolic confrontation between opposing global forces, expressed through color and direction.
  • Setting: a site-specific work designed to engage with the park landscape and its visitors.

Practical information

Reported date of the installation: 12 May 2025. The work is located close to Parco Desio; visitors should check local notices for access details and opening times.

  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking in the park.
  • Respect the artwork: avoid touching materials to help preserve the piece.
  • Photography is allowed, but be mindful of other visitors and do not obstruct pathways.

This installation continues Mathias Pds's practice of producing public, site-responsive works that blend poetic language and civic engagement. Visitors interested in broader context may look for his other outdoor projects that engage with community and place.
