Born from hands-on city care, Materia Comune links civic clean-up efforts with artistic production, turning recovered materials into a shared public installation that speaks of reuse and community responsibility.
The opening takes place on Friday, April 10 at 6:00 PM at La Vaccheria in Rome. The initiative is driven by a collaborative network of associations, businesses and civic groups aimed at producing measurable improvements in urban quality.

The project is promoted by a platform coordinating local associations and companies, with the participation of civic organizations. The installation is directed by artist Alessio D’Angeli, who works with reclaimed polionda panels—originally placed illegally in public space—to create visual traces and symbols of urban regeneration.
Materia Comune is more than an exhibition: it demonstrates how civic care can develop into cultural projects that engage communities and foster shared responsibility for urban environments. The initiative showcases creative reuse and supports the creation of new, more attentive public imaginaries.
Attending projects like Materia Comune offers a concrete view of how regeneration and creativity can restore value to urban fabric. Check the organizers’ official channels for further details and related events.
