On 9 and 10 April 2026, the historic Palazzo Bonocore in Palermo will host two cultural events that bring current social and cultural debates into a monument setting.
The first session, Thursday 9 April at 17:00, focuses on contemporary modes of documenting and preserving the memory of the war in Ukraine. The panel discusses how digital technologies shape the production and circulation of images, videos and eyewitness accounts, raising ethical, historical and legal questions.
On Friday 10 April at 17:00 the series “Women Writing the Present” opens. The programme highlights the role of women across publishing, writing, theatre and film, and examines their contribution to cultural debate, including issues linked to artificial intelligence and new technologies.
Both events take place at Palazzo Bonocore in Palermo’s historic centre. They offer an opportunity to connect the monument’s cultural heritage with contemporary public debate. Check with the organisers for participation details or registration requirements.
