Discover Ancient Marsala: guided tours at Lilibeo Archaeological Park

Guided tours of Ancient Marsala have resumed, providing direct access to key urban archaeological sites. Tours are led by archaeologists from the ArcheOfficina cooperative and focus on the historical, architectural and archaeological significance of each location.

Sites open for visits

  • Church of Santa Maria della Grotta – A rock-hewn church carved into Roman quarries, notable for its evocative setting and surviving medieval fresco fragments.
  • Niccolini Quarry (Latomia) – Ancient Roman quarries later used as burial spaces by early Christian communities; located within the garden of the Augustinian Fathers' convent.
  • Crispia Salvia Hypogeum – A remarkable subterranean funerary chamber from the 2nd–3rd century AD, featuring painted decorations and a funerary inscription.

Tickets and prices

Visitors can buy single-site tickets or a combined pass for all three monuments:

  • Single site: €5.00 full | €3.50 reduced (under 18 and students under 26)
  • Combined ticket (all three sites): €12.00 full | €7.00 reduced

Visiting hours

Guided tours run on weekends with hourly departures. Schedule:

  • Saturday: 15:00–18:00
  • Sunday: 10:00–13:00 and 15:00–18:00

The last tour departs one hour before closing.
