Venue: Church of San Giovanni Battista, San Giovanni a Teduccio, Naples
Dates: 13 April – 14 May 2026
Officine Artistiche Vesuviane presents Sacro Pane, a site-specific installation by Mario Ciaramella set within the eighteenth-century nave of the church. The artist stages a contemporary cenacle with sculptures that reinterpret Jesus and the twelve apostles, based on drawings and a sustained inquiry into the Last Supper. The installation is designed for a slow, immersive encounter focused on the sharing of bread as nourishment and symbol of salvation.
The exhibition coexists with the church's liturgical life and aims to function as a point of gathering and inspiration for the local community. Guided tours and free talks are scheduled during the exhibition period.
On 13–15 April 2026, Maestro Ciaramella will lead a linocut workshop open to the public by reservation. The workshop covers the full process—design, lino carving, ink preparation and paper printing. To participate, book by emailing [email protected] by 9 April.
Born in Luzzano di Moiano (Benevento) in 1956, Mario Ciaramella studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and trained with notable Italian masters. His work combines local materials and traditional techniques with research into memory, ritual and community settings. He has shown widely in Italy and abroad.
