From April 13 to May 14, 2026, the Church of San Giovanni a Teduccio in Naples will host Sacro Pane, a site-specific installation by artist Mario Ciaramella, curated by Carla Travierso and part of the Visioni contemporanee program. Admission is free.
The project stems from Ciaramella's studies on the Last Supper: drawings and preparatory works inspired a series of sculptures that form a contemporary cenacle within the eighteenth-century nave. The artist reinterprets the figures of Jesus and the twelve apostles to create a slow, immersive path focused on the ritual of sharing bread as symbol of nourishment and salvation.
The installation coexists with the church's liturgical activities and aims to become a gathering and inspirational point for the neighborhood. Guided visits and public talks will take place during the exhibition period.
Practical tip: allow time for a contemplative visit and check for any timetable changes linked to liturgical events.
