21Art Treviso hosts a focused exhibition by Mario Ceroli featuring a single, large-scale site-specific installation that blends material memory and visual theatre.
The work greets visitors with a broad expanse of golden stones—a metaphor for human ambition—paired with lapis-blue wooden elements that evoke a contemplative, pictorial register, while oxidised metal nets evoke images of contemporary conflict. The installation creates a tension between aspiration and reality, offering a poetic reflection on the present.
Curator: Cesare Biasini Selvaggi. The exhibition underscores Ceroli's ongoing practice of revealing forms through time, turning material traces into an expanded visual theatre.
Artist note: Born in 1938, Mario Ceroli adopted wood as his primary medium in the 1950s, developing a prominent international career with numerous biennial participations and retrospective shows. His practice includes sculpture, scenography and public installations.
Recommended for visitors interested in contemporary art and immersive, site-specific installations. Group visits can be arranged by appointment.
