Marco Fusinato at PAC: when noise shapes form

The PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan presents the first major European solo show by Marco Fusinato, an artist and noise musician who merges abrasive sound with disruptive imagery. Curated by Diego Sileo, the exhibition examines power, symbolic violence and the material presence of noise through immersive, performative works.

The centerpiece is the performance-installation DESASTRES, originally shown at the Australian Pavilion in 2022: a setup of electric guitars, massive amplifiers and projections that layers archival and personal images, producing a collision between sonic improvisation and chaotic visual streams. Fusinato performs daily during opening hours, allowing residual sounds from the performances to sustain an ambient presence within the gallery.

  • Artist: Marco Fusinato (Australia, 1964)
  • Curator: Diego Sileo
  • Dates: 31 March – 7 June 2026
  • Venue: PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, Via Palestro 14, Milan
  • Performances: daily 17:00–19:00 (Thursdays open until 22:00)

The show also features published and recorded projects: the LP The Horizon is a Razor, commissioned by PAC and released by Soundohm, continues Fusinato’s practice of juxtaposing masterpieces of art history with mass-media imagery to create striking visual-auditory juxtapositions. The MASS BLACK IMPLOSION series, active since 2007, transforms avant-garde scores into graphic interventions that suggest a simultaneous execution of all notated elements, converting paper silence into latent sonic force.

Taking place during Milano Art Week and alongside miart, this monographic exhibition reinforces PAC’s role as a hub for experimental contemporary research, offering a direct encounter with artworks that push the limits of performance and sound sculpture.

Visitor tip: plan your visit during the scheduled performance times to experience the works fully—the physical impact of the installations is strongest in situ and benefits from the ongoing sonic residue between live interventions.
