Pescara Half Marathon 2026 – Practical information

On Sunday, 17 May 2026 the 11th edition of the Pescara Half Marathon takes place. Organized by A.S.D. RUN4FUN with the support of the local administration, the event will involve more than 2,000 runners and an estimated 3,000 people including competitors and spectators.

Schedule and event types

  • Competitive race – Half Marathon: 21.097 km, start at 09:00 (course to be repeated twice).
  • Non-competitive race: 10 km, start at 09:30.
  • Sportive walk: 6.5 km, start at 09:30. Registrations on 15 and 16 May in the afternoon at Piazza Salotto.
  • Family walk: 2.5 km, start at 09:30. Registrations on 15 and 16 May in the afternoon at Piazza Salotto.

The competitive race is sold out. The event promotes sport, wellbeing and inclusion: associations supporting people with disabilities will take part, with dedicated refreshment points and volunteer support.

Route and key points

The race starts near the Teatro D'Annunzio and finishes at the Auditorium Flaiano. The course runs along the seafront and main city streets and uses the Ponte Flaiano cycle path to avoid fully closing the bridge. The turnaround is near the Church of Sant'Antonio before returning to the city center.

Road closures and traffic

Several streets and seafront sections will be temporarily closed or restricted to traffic to allow the event to proceed safely. Affected areas include Lungomare Papa Giovanni XXIII, Lungomare Colombo, Rotonda delle Canarie, via Andrea Doria, Ponte Asse Attrezzato, Piazza Italia, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Corso Umberto I, via Cesare Battisti, viale della Riviera, Lungomare Matteotti, Lungofiume dei Poeti and Ponte Flaiano (cycle path). Residents and drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and follow instructions from local police and civil protection personnel.

Practical tips for participants and spectators

  • Arrive early to avoid congestion at start and finish areas.
  • Prefer public transport or designated parking areas where possible.
  • Check access points and services for families and people with reduced mobility.
  • Follow signage and the directions of staff and volunteers to ensure safety and event flow.

The Pescara Half Marathon is also a chance to promote sports tourism and local attractions, encouraging participation from the community and visitors.
