Maggiolata Lucignanese 2026: Lucignano blooms again with tradition and Olympic spirit

The 87th edition of the Maggiolata Lucignanese will enliven the village with events that combine popular tradition, floral creativity and community participation. The 2026 theme is “The Olympic Games: from antiquity to the present”, guiding the design of the allegorical floats created by the four historic districts.

• Main dates: Sunday 31 May (parade), Monday 1 June (night-time event) and Sunday 7 June (grand finale).
• Maggiolina Week: from 28 May to 7 June, featuring food stands, evening events and activities across the historic center.
• Floats and decorations: installations made with fresh flowers—about 20,000 carnations per composition—and the village’s streets and squares transformed into an open-air garden.
• Special initiatives: the “Train of Flowers” on Sunday 31 May, with historic carriages departing from Arezzo, and itinerant performances by companies from across Italy.
• Community and organisation: the Maggiolata Committee and the municipal administration coordinate the districts (Via dell’Amore, Porta San Giovanni, Porta San Giusto and Porta Murata), with strong participation from young volunteers.

The Maggiolata reaffirms Lucignano’s role as a springtime cultural destination in Tuscany, offering visitors the charm of its concentric medieval layout, the Municipal Museum with the Golden Tree, and the evocative atmosphere of local traditions.
