Made in Treviso: the value of craftsmanship and manufacturing

On the occasion of World Culture Day, 15 April 2026, the Marca Trevigiana production system is highlighted for combining tradition with export capacity. The area is notable for a high share of artisan businesses and a diversified industrial fabric that supports employment and innovation.

  • Active companies: 9,030, of which 4,722 are artisan businesses (52.3%)
  • Employees: 120,134
  • Export value 2025: €15.411 billion (decline -1.1% vs 2024)

Key sectors include food and beverages (784 companies, 57.1% artisan), machinery (651, 31.5%), electronics and IT (513, 38.4%) and jewelry (89, 84.3% artisan). In employment terms, metallurgy and manufacturing lead with 42,461 workers (35.3%), followed by wood-furniture, machinery and fashion.

Trends and growing segments

Although exports fell in 2025 versus 2024, the comparison with the pre-Covid period shows an overall increase of 13.9%. Some sectors performed particularly well:

  • Chemicals, rubber, plastics and pharmaceuticals: +4% on 2024 (+28.7% vs 2019)
  • Machinery and equipment: +3.4% on 2024 (+23.8% vs 2019)
  • Food and beverages: +2.2% on 2024 (+44.9% vs pre-Covid)

At the same time, traditional strongholds such as fashion, metallurgy and wood-furniture showed declines in 2025, underlining the need for adaptation strategies.

Outlook and recommendations

Confartigianato Imprese Marca Trevigiana stresses that craftsmanship remains central to local competitiveness. However, international uncertainty and changing foreign markets call for targeted measures to support SMEs, promote innovation and facilitate market access. The growth since 2019 demonstrates resilience, but safeguarding achieved results requires concrete support policies.
