On Friday 10 April at 9:00 PM, the Fondazione Banca del Monte in Lucca will host a public event organized by the association Lucca@Europa. Monk Adalberto Mainardi will address the role of religious communities in the context of the conflict in Ukraine and discuss paths toward peace.
Adalberto Mainardi is a monk from Cellole (San Gimignano) with extensive experience in ecumenism and Orthodox spirituality. He studied philosophy and Slavic philology, translates from Russian and other Slavic languages, and has published on the history of the Russian Church and Eastern European religious life.
The talk will examine religious and cultural factors shaping the conflict, offering historical, political and theological perspectives that can help restore dialogue and reaffirm peace through respect for international law.
