Mario Pachioli's studio and works open to the public at Palazzo dei Pittori

On the occasion of the 16th A.D.S.I. National Day, Sunday 24 May 2026, the Palazzo dei Pittori in Florence will open its doors for special visits. Among the accessible spaces visitors will be able to see the studio of sculptor Mario Pachioli, originally from Vasto.

  • Cultural moment: 11:00 — talk titled "Lungo il Mugnone negli anni Ottanta dell'Ottocento" with Dr. Francesca Petrucci and Dr. Lucia Tonini Steidl
  • Reception: his daughter Grazia and Ms. Erica will welcome and accompany visitors through the studio

Mario Pachioli (born Vasto, 1948 – died Florence, 2024) was an internationally active sculptor, recognized for works that combine monumental presence with refined figurative technique. Trained at the State Art Institute in Vasto and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he exhibited extensively in solo and group shows in Italy and abroad; his works are held in notable collections and museums, including institutions in Kraków, Warsaw, Cancún, Stia, Arezzo and the Bargello Museum in Florence.

Visiting the studio provides a practical opportunity to view the artist's materials and works in their original setting and to hear family recollections that illuminate his creative practice. Visitors are advised to respect the indicated time slots to ensure smooth access to shared spaces.
