The Jewish Museum of Lecce hosts a solo exhibition by artist Adi Kichelmacher focused on the intersections between Judaism and Christianity, centering on the historical figure of Jesus and his Jewish origins. The project stems from a visual investigation aimed at restoring Jewish symbols and references often omitted in traditional religious imagery.
The opening is scheduled for Monday, March 16 at 4:00 PM. The exhibition features works designed to encourage dialogue among scholars, theologians and the public, with contributions that explore shared values such as ethics, justice and mutual respect.
The show aims to build a cultural and spiritual bridge between closely related traditions, highlighting common values and prompting reflection on the historical and identity meaning of sacred imagery. The Jewish Museum, established about ten years ago through local initiatives and a scientific committee, reaffirms its role as a space for dialogue and the promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the Jewish community in Lecce.
Guided visits and talks with experts will accompany the exhibition, offering visitors tools to understand the artist's intentions and the historical references underpinning the works.
