Perugia, 15 April 2026 – The "Volando in Umbria" programme was presented at Palazzo Donini, outlining a series of aviation-related events designed to promote Umbria’s heritage, including historic sites, lakeside locations and the airport infrastructure.

The schedule blends long-standing events with new initiatives, turning regional landscapes into open-air stages. Castiglione del Lago will be the hub of the Flight Festival, with major activities centered on Eleuteri airport.

• 24–26 April 2026 – Meeting di Primavera: gathering for sport and recreational aviation featuring aerobatic displays, helicopters and gliders.
• 1–3 May 2026 – Coloriamo i cieli: international kite event with family workshops and aviation history activities around Lake Trasimeno.
• 19–21 June 2026 – First national Avioraduno of the Aero Club d’Italia: large-scale gathering of aircraft marking the return of significant aeronautical events to the region.
• April–September 2026 – Umbria Balloon Festival: a touring hot-air balloon event visiting 14 municipalities, offering free and tethered flights and night "Night Glow" shows (end of July at Trasimeno and September in Terni).

One of the most evocative moments will be the return of seaplanes to Lake Trasimeno, recalling a century-old link between the area and early aviation. Events will be paired with the gastronomic format "Il gusto di volare", connecting the thrill of flight with local culinary specialties to enhance tourism impact.

The programme results from coordination between municipal administrations and private partners. The Aero Club Trasimeno has prepared airport logistics to handle significant flows of aircraft and drones. The Regional Government will include these activities in the new tourism law to acknowledge their economic and cultural importance.
