Churches and the conflict in Ukraine: public lecture in Lucca

On Friday 10 April at 9:00 PM, the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca (Piazza San Martino) will host a public event focused on how religious institutions engage with the war in Ukraine. The talk is organized by the cultural association Lucca@Europa and admission is free.

Speaker

Adalberto Mainardi, a monk from Cellole (San Gimignano), will deliver the lecture. He is an expert in ecumenism and Orthodox spirituality, a translator from Russian and other Slavic languages, and author of studies on the Russian Church and Slavic spiritual literature.

The presentation, titled "The Churches Facing the Conflict in Ukraine: A Challenge for Peace," combines historical, cultural and religious perspectives to help citizens better understand the context and consider paths toward dialogue.
