From 1 to 27 June 2026, the archaeological site of S. Gada in Laino Borgo will host a field excavation campaign aimed at providing students and early-career researchers with practical experience in archaeological fieldwork and artefact study.
The programme is part of academic activities in Mediterranean archaeology and is coordinated by the University of Messina in partnership with local cultural authorities. The scientific director is Professor Fabrizio Mollo.
Eligible participants include undergraduate students in Humanities or Archaeology, master's students, graduates, postgraduate trainees and doctoral candidates in archaeology-related fields.
Applications must include personal details and academic record and be submitted by 13:00 on 24 April 2026. The selection and organisation are overseen by the scientific direction; applications and inquiries should be addressed to Professor Fabrizio Mollo.
Joining the S. Gada campaign offers practical field skills, experience with excavation and documentation methods, and the chance to work within a collaborative research framework linked to local institutions.
