The Threshold: Massimo Campagna’s Solo Exhibition at the Roman Cisterns in Atri

The Threshold”, curated by Giovanna Dello Iacono, presents an immersive route that investigates the idea of the threshold as a space of passage, reflection and transformation. Through a recent series of works, Campagna examines the interplay between what is visible and what dissolves, prompting reflections on personal memory and collective dimensions.

The works on display emphasize materiality, light and layered meaning, favoring a contemplative approach. The historical setting of the Roman Cisterns enhances the dialogue between contemporary art and local memory.

Massimo Campagna lives and works in Italy. Trained at the State Art Institute of Naples, his career spans large-scale works, material research and the integration of iconic, photographic and textual elements. In recent years his practice has moved toward a more introspective and refined language positioned between figuration and abstraction.
