The Royal Palace of Caserta takes over management of Piazza Carlo di Borbone

16 May 2026 — The Municipality of Caserta and the Directorate of the Royal Palace of Caserta have formalized an agreement to entrust the management of Piazza Carlo di Borbone, the main entrance area to the UNESCO-listed monumental complex. The aim is to make the square more functional, safe and attractive for residents and visitors.

The planned interventions are intended to strengthen the link between the Palace and the city by enhancing services and the quality of public space.

• Maintenance: routine and extraordinary works on paving, street furniture and public services.
• Green areas: upgrading and care of green spaces and rest areas for a more pleasant experience.
• Visitor services: coordination of welcome and information services and clearer routes to the monument.
• Cultural programming: promotion of initiatives and events in cooperation with the Municipality to enliven the square.

The Municipality will retain an operational role in event management and oversight of interventions. For visitors, the agreement should result in better-maintained public spaces and easier access to the monumental complex.
