La Casa Magica at Nilufar: design as ritual

Autore: Redazione 24/04/2026 22:46

The Exhibition

La Casa Magica rethinks the relationship between objects and living spaces, proposing furniture conceived as everyday gestures loaded with symbolic meaning. The show encourages visitors to see the home as a ritual space where objects act as protection, memory or sensory pleasure.

What to See

The exhibition features around fifteen international and experimental designers presenting active, functional pieces intended for domestic use. Highlights include:

  • tables and desks with narrative purposes;
  • lamps and luminous objects with symbolic roles;
  • furniture conceived as talismans or memory devices;
  • works by both emerging designers and established authors.

Nilufar Grand Hotel at the Depot

Simultaneously at the Depot, the gallery stages the Nilufar Grand Hotel, an immersive installation recreating three hotel rooms. Each room, designed by different teams, mixes vintage pieces, contemporary creations and Nilufar Edition objects to build layered domestic settings. Outdoor courtyard furnishings extend the experience beyond interior spaces.

Why Visit

The exhibition offers an alternative perspective on contemporary design routes: it shows how design practice and rituality can overlap, turning furnishings into narrative and relational objects.
