Campania at DMED 2026
The Campania Region, represented by the Department of Agriculture, is participating in DMED 2026 — the Mediterranean Diet Fair. The aim is to promote local agri-food products, encourage sustainable farming practices and highlight the relationship between UNESCO-protected cultural landscapes and regional food traditions.
- Goals: promote short supply chains, support local producers and raise awareness of the cultural value of the Mediterranean diet.
- UNESCO focus: the role of sites such as Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, Paestum and the Vallo di Diano, Cilento and Alburni National Park in preserving agricultural practices and unique culinary traditions will be highlighted.
- Planned activities: technical presentations, tastings of typical products, meetings with producers and cultural tourism operators.
For visitors and professionals, the Fair is a practical occasion to explore how safeguarding UNESCO sites supports sustainable development of rural communities and to discover native products that convey the history and biodiversity of Campania.
