Galleria 291 Est/Inc hosts Orlando, a solo exhibition by José Witteveen curated by Elisa Dell'Accio with the collaboration of Andrea Acocella | Bar.lina. The body of work, initiated in 2019, takes inspiration from Virginia Woolf's novel to explore identity as a process of continuous transformation across time and space.
Witteveen engages participants in a relational process that shapes portraits and images through diverse techniques. The show includes mixed-media prints, analog photography, cyanotype and photogravure (intaglio photographic printing), emphasizing process-oriented and collective narratives.
The project unfolded through multiple residencies, building dynamic connections rooted in social engagement and critical practice.
Practical tip: visit on weekdays for a quieter experience and check the gallery's website for updated opening hours before your visit.
