The 61st International Art Exhibition in Venice, curated by Koyo Kouoh and titled "In Minor Keys", opened to the public on 9 May 2026. The exhibition occupies the Biennale’s historic sites as well as venues spread across the city, offering a broad overview of contemporary art on an international scale.
This edition features national pavilions, site-specific projects and an extensive program of collateral events that turn Venice into a distributed cultural platform. The Giardini and the Arsenale remain the main exhibition hubs, supported by additional pavilions and installations around the city.
Attendance was strong from day one: organizers reported approximately 10,000 visitors on the opening day, underscoring the Biennale’s central role in the global art calendar.
The Biennale continues to be a major international art event: for visitors it represents a concentrated opportunity to engage with current artistic practices, curatorial dialogues and international projects within Venice’s historic setting.
