Italia di Moda at MAXXI: 48 photographs charting Italy's places

The MAXXI — National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome presents the photographic exhibition "Italia di Moda", a visual project that employs fashion as a narrative tool to explore Italian landscapes, cities and villages. Through 48 images, photographer Andrea Varani and model Ludmilla Voronkina Bozzetti merge haute couture and territory to map an emotional geography of Italy.

The exhibition is on view from 14 May to 7 June 2026 in the museum's exhibition spaces.

What to see

  • Compositions where garments interact with natural and urban settings.
  • Iconic and lesser-known locations across Italy: from the Dolomites to southern regions.
  • Couture pieces by notable Italian houses integrated into the landscape — designers mentioned include Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Etro.
  • A visual balance between body, space and culture proposing a fresh take on fashion photography.

Why visit

The show offers an original way to discover Italy: fashion becomes a lens to appreciate local traditions, architecture and natural environments. It suits visitors interested in visual storytelling and the intersections of image, identity and place.

Practical information

  • Venue: MAXXI, Rome.
  • Dates: 14/05/2026 – 07/06/2026.
  • Tip: check the museum's official channels for opening hours and entry rules before visiting.
