Ispirazione Europa: a trilogy of exhibitions in the Basilica Palladiana

Between 2026 and 2028 Vicenza will host "Ispirazione Europa", a three-part exhibition project examining the artistic and cultural connections between Italy and Germany, France and Spain. The programme highlights exchanges, travels and influences that helped shape European cultural identity.

Curated by Gabriella Belli and Valerio Terraroli, the trilogy is promoted by the Municipality of Vicenza in collaboration with the International Centre for Andrea Palladio Studies and the Teatro Comunale Foundation. The exhibitions are organised by Marsilio Arte with main partner Intesa Sanpaolo.

• Italy–Germany: opens on 13 November 2026 and runs until 2 May 2027. The display features about 100 works, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, works on paper and archival documents, with a focus on the twentieth century.
• Italy–France: second chapter scheduled for 2027.
• Italy–Spain: third chapter scheduled for 2028.

The shows span five centuries of cultural history, weaving together art, politics and society to show how cultural dialogue often anticipated major European transformations.
