The historic organ of San Ciro in Atena Lucana restored

Yesterday morning, on the feast day of patron Saint Ciro, the parish's historic organ was inaugurated after a complete restoration. The 18th-century instrument returned to life thanks to restoration work by the Continiello brothers.

The inauguration took place during a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Raffaele Galdiero together with parish priest Don Michele Casale. Maestro Vincenzo Loisi performed the first pieces on the restored organ in front of a full and moved congregation.

  • Date: 17 May 2026
  • Location: Church of San Ciro, Atena Lucana (Salerno)
  • Restoration: carried out by the Continiello brothers
  • Fundraising: started in 2017 with the "Una tegola per San Ciro" initiative

The restoration was made possible by the active participation of the local community, which allocated part of the funds raised to bring the organ back into use. The event marks both a cultural and spiritual recovery of an important historic instrument.
