Herculaneum Archaeological Park at DIDACTA ITALIA

The Herculaneum Archaeological Park will take part in Didacta Italia to showcase Adventure in Herculaneum, an interactive digital guide that turns site visits into active educational experiences. The initiative combines digital technology, playful learning activities and accessibility features to support inclusive paths for schools, families and cultural operators.

The guide includes augmented reality, games and immersive activities that help children and young people discover the ancient city, while making heritage visits more engaging and suitable for visitors with special educational needs or cognitive difficulties.

Aims and tools

• Educational innovation: linking cultural heritage with new technologies for hands-on learning experiences.
• Inclusion and accessibility: content designed to engage visitors on the autism spectrum and those with learning challenges.
• Community engagement: programs targeting economically and culturally disadvantaged groups to foster wellbeing and local development.
• Partnerships: developed in collaboration with the Packard Humanities Institute and the association Variabile K.
