Ignazio Gadaleta donates 12 works to the Museo Diocesano of Molfetta

Molfetta-born artist Ignazio Gadaleta has transferred twelve works from his exhibition Preghiera Infinita to the Fondazione Museo Diocesano, enhancing the museum’s permanent collection.

The donation reflects Gadaleta’s strong ties to the local community and his wish to honor the memory of the Venerable Don Tonino Bello. The exhibition has been extended through 31 May, coinciding with the release of a monograph published by Silvana Editoriale that documents the exhibited works and other significant pieces by the artist.

What to see and why it matters

The show traces a multi-decade artistic trajectory: 23 works on display represent production from 1979 to 2021. Renowned for his aniconic painting and later move toward environmental art, Gadaleta employs a method focused on woven-like structures, chromatic textures and rhythmic patterns that invite contemplative viewing.
