ICOM Italy renews Umbria Regional Coordination (2026–2028)

Perugia, 23 March 2026 — The Conference Hall of the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria (Palazzo dei Priori) hosted the members’ assembly and elections to renew ICOM Italy’s Umbria Regional Coordination for the 2026–2028 term.

Before voting opened, outgoing coordinator Dr. Giovanna Giubbini reviewed the mandate, highlighting post‑pandemic challenges and the role of quality and cooperation in the museum sector’s recovery. Voting took place from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with 65 participants including individual members, institutions and proxies.

Dr. Antonella Pinna, recently elected President of ICOM Italy, outlined national strategic lines aimed at strengthening ties between central bodies and regional coordinations.

  • Program priorities: revitalisation of 23 thematic working groups, expansion of membership, continuous training and greater engagement of young professionals.
  • Event highlight: guided visit to the exhibition “Giotto and St. Francis. A revolution in 14th‑century Umbria.”
  • National event noted: conference “Heritages of the Mediterranean” in Bari, 17–19 April 2026.

The new composition of the ICOM Umbria Regional Coordination for 2026–2028 is:

  • Caterina Bon di Valsassina e Medrisio
  • Olimpia Bartolucci
  • Glenda Giampaoli
  • Fabio Marcelli
