The National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia has announced a prorogation of the exhibition The Gods Return. The Bronzes of San Casciano until 12 April 2026. The show brings together more than 300 mainly bronze artifacts recovered during archaeological campaigns carried out between 2022 and 2024 at the thermal sanctuary of San Casciano dei Bagni.
The display explores religious practices and the interactions between Etruscans and Romans in a healing sanctuary shaped by thermal waters. Statues, votive figurines, anatomical ex-votos and hundreds of coins trace centuries of devotion, while long inscriptions in Etruscan and Latin provide fresh insights into cult practices.
On display you will find:
The exhibition frames the Bagno Grande votive deposit within a wide territorial and historical landscape, highlighting how the sanctuary drew people of different backgrounds for healing and religious observance. The arrangement pairs well-known objects with newly discovered material presented for the first time in Italy.
