FAI Spring Days 2026: when and why to attend

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026 the FAI Spring Days take place for the 34th time. In Lombardy, 146 sites across 59 municipalities will be open with visits offered for a voluntary contribution. The event is an opportunity to visit historic villas, churches, palaces and other monumental sites that are often closed to the public.

What to see: main openings in Lombardy

Highlights among the openings include a representative selection of monuments and sites:

  • Milan: Palazzo Turati, Libeskind Tower (CityLife), the Ministry of Finance building with its vault and air-raid shelter, Teulié Military School, Palazzo Beltrami, Spazio Tadini, the Rai headquarters on Corso Sempione, Dolce&Gabbana Casa, San Siro racetrack, Politecnico Bovisa campus.
  • Historic villas and residences: Villa Necchi Campiglio, Villa della Porta Bozzolo, Villa del Balbianello, Villa Fogazzaro Roi, Villa and Panza Collection.
  • Distributed heritage: Torba Monastery, Velate Tower, Mulino Maurizio Gervasoni, Castel Grumello.
  • Provinces: Prefecture Palace in Como; Villa del Dosso (Somma Lombardo); Leonardo's ferry at Imbersago (Lecco); Legler Foundation (Brembate di Sopra); and many other openings across Bergamo, Brescia, Mantua, Pavia, Monza and Brianza, Varese, Sondrio and Lodi.

How to participate

Visits are run by volunteers and generally take place with voluntary contributions. For schedules, meeting points and any required reservations, check the official event website where the full list of open sites is published by province.

Why attend

FAI Spring Days are a practical way to deepen knowledge of local heritage: participants can explore architecture, local histories and hidden treasures while supporting cultural preservation.
