The FAI Spring Days take place on 21–22 March 2026, offering the public access to numerous historic monuments, palaces and sites that are often closed to visitors. Organized by the Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano, the event features guided tours led by volunteers to highlight Italy's monumental and cultural heritage.
About 780 openings are scheduled across more than 400 towns, from major cities to small villages. Openings include historic palaces, villas, gardens, monasteries, public institutions and archaeological sites. The 2026 edition also includes special openings marking the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi.
Access rules differ by site. Many locations allow walk-in visits at published times, while the most popular openings may require online booking or offer priority access to FAI members.
FAI Spring Days provide a rare chance to explore hidden corners of Italy's monumental heritage, learn from guided tours and enjoy restored historic settings. Participation also supports conservation through visitor contributions and volunteer effort.
Find the complete list of open sites, booking information and any updates on the official FAI pages dedicated to the Spring Days. Check for last-minute changes before you go.
