Parco di Soreto: cleanup and restoration day (16 May 2026)

Date: 16 May 2026 • Meeting time: from 07:00

On Saturday 16 May 2026 the Parco di Soreto, located in the municipality of Dinami, will be the setting for a community-led cleanup and restoration day. The event is free and voluntary, aimed at restoring dignity and enhancing a site of historical, cultural and religious importance.

Organisers invite residents and local associations to arrive early in the morning. Those who can provide machinery or tools are asked to bring them to support the operations.

  • Location: Parco di Soreto, Dinami (VV), Italy
  • Meeting time: 07:00
  • Participation: free and volunteer-based
  • Required equipment: mulchers, excavators, chainsaws, brushcutters and agricultural tools

The Parco di Soreto preserves notable monumental features: the ruins of an ancient convent, the church dedicated to Saints Francis of Assisi and Francis of Paola, and a majestic black poplar (Populus nigra) officially designated as a monumental tree by the Ministry in 2024. The site is also historically connected to Saint Francis of Paola.

In recent years the park has attracted interest from heritage organisations, highlighting opportunities for protection and shared enhancement. Volunteer efforts combined with suitable machinery will allow work on clearing vegetation, cleaning and stabilising architectural remains.

To participate or coordinate the supply of equipment, contact the local organisers or the Municipality of Dinami. Collective action will support the site's recovery and public use.
