Play. Match. Encounter: tennis interpreted in watercolor by Severino Salvemini

Play. Match. Encounter is an exhibition that translates athletic gestures into visual poetry: 49 watercolor portraits exploring movement, focus and emotion in contemporary tennis. The show creates a bridge between sport, visual art and social commitment.

  • Dates: 13 May–3 June 2026 (opening on 12 May 2026 at 18:30)
  • Venue: Tennis Club Milano Alberto Bonacossa, Milan
  • Works: 49 watercolor portraits
  • Artist: Severino Salvemini
  • Purpose: proceeds from the works will be donated to CBM Italia

The portraits include prominent names of the international circuit — from Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic to Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka — along with rising talents. Each piece aims to capture the suspended moment before or after a stroke, turning athletic gesture into a contemplative image.

Salvemini’s technique emphasizes the transparency and fluidity of watercolor to convey motion and emotional intensity. Known also for his academic and journalistic background, the artist combines visual sensitivity with attention to social themes.

Opening and guests: the official opening is scheduled for 12 May 2026 at 18:30 at the Bonacossa club, with the announced presence of Boris Becker. Representatives of the club and CBM Italia will also take part.

The historic clubhouse designed by Giovanni Muzio provides an architectural backdrop that enriches the visit, enabling a conversation between sport, art and built heritage.

Practical note: visitors should check the Tennis Club Milano Alberto Bonacossa website or contact the club for updated visiting hours and access information. The exhibition is recommended for those interested in the intersections between sporting gestures and contemporary artistic expression.
