Francigena Fidenza Festival 2026: six days of walks and trekking

From 5 to 10 May 2026 Fidenza (PR) becomes a hub for slow travel with the Francigena Fidenza Festival, extended this year from three to six days. The festival features walks, exhibitions, performances and talks under the theme "The walk belongs to everyone."

• Historic routes: trails linking Fidenza to Fiorenzuola and Busseto — 9 May 2026.
• "Slow to the goal": a collective walk toward Fornovo Taro — 10 May 2026.
• Sigerico by bicycle: option for those who prefer two-wheel travel — 9 May 2026.
• Mindful walks and urban trekking: sensory experiences that recall pilgrims' memories and rediscover the landscape.
• Exhibitions, meetings and school activities: sessions with scholars, pilgrims and sector operators.

The event marks the 25th anniversary of the European Association of the Via Francigena and coincides with the conclusion of the ICOMOS assessment for the Via Francigena's UNESCO World Heritage candidacy.

Organised by the Municipality of Fidenza together with local and regional partners, the festival promotes responsible, inclusive and territory-conscious tourism. The program targets pilgrims, families, nature enthusiasts and residents, offering routes suitable for different ages and fitness levels.
