Apennine Festival 2026: nature, communities and slow travel

Period: from 3 May to 31 October 2026. The Apennine Festival returns with a distributed programme highlighting landscapes, villages and local traditions.

The lineup includes 31 events across 29 municipalities in Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio and Umbria, aimed at supporting cultural and economic recovery in areas affected by the 2016 earthquake and promoting slow tourism and outdoor activities.

• Opening: Sunday 3 May in Amatrice with a hike to the Eremo della Croce and an outdoor performance combining music and poetry.
• Event types: guided hikes, village tours, outdoor performances, food and wine events, and territory-focused workshops.
• Participation: most events are free but require online booking; spaces for hikes are limited.
