Starting March 19, the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA) opens the exhibition "Timeless Forms – Roberto Capucci in dialogue with MArTA", a display that brings the couturier's sartorial creations into conversation with the visual language of antiquity.
Organised in collaboration with the Roberto Capucci Foundation and Civita Sicilia, the exhibition features twenty haute couture garments and a selection of original sketches placed within the museum route and temporary exhibition areas. Textile sculptures by Capucci are juxtaposed with archaeological items such as mosaics, painted pottery and gold objects to highlight the formal and material influences behind the designer's work.
The itinerary explores how natural motifs and elements of ancient dress — from peplos to floral forms — have been reinterpreted by the "architect of fashion" through sculptural volumes and material experimentation, tracing the dialogue between fashion and classical art.
Representatives from the museum and the Capucci Foundation will attend the press preview and vernissage. For practical details about visiting hours and tickets, please consult the museum's official channels.
