Timeless Forms: Roberto Capucci at the MArTA Archaeological Museum in Taranto

Starting 19 March 2026, the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA) opens the exhibition "Timeless Forms – Roberto Capucci in dialogue with MArTA". The show brings together the sculptural fashion language of the designer—often called an "architect of fashion"—and the ancient art held in the museum's collections.

Produced in collaboration with the Roberto Capucci Foundation and Civita Sicilia, the exhibition stages a visual dialogue where haute couture garments and the designer's sketches are paired with sculptures, mosaics, painted amphorae and jewellery, highlighting shared formal motifs and sources of inspiration.

  • On display: around twenty haute couture dresses and Capucci's sketches.
  • Curatorial approach: juxtapositions between fashion forms and ancient motifs (drapery, floral corollas, geometric structures, ornaments).
  • Partners: MArTA, Roberto Capucci Foundation, Civita Sicilia.

The official public opening is scheduled for Thursday 19 March at 18:00, with the presence of MArTA director Stella Falzone, Enrico Minio Capucci (director of the Capucci Foundation) and Prof. Massimo Osanna (Director General of Italian Museums).

The exhibition is recommended for visitors interested in the intersections between contemporary fashion and art history: through volumes, folds and structural solutions, Capucci's work reveals echoes of ancient forms that informed his designs.

For up-to-date information on opening hours, exhibition duration and tickets, consult the MArTA official website or the museum's institutional channels.
