Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo: four exhibitions of experimental practice and new productions

From 15 April 2026 the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin launches a series of four solo exhibitions by international artists. The programme brings together audiovisual experiments, material research and contemporary approaches to sculpture and painting, presenting new commissions and exploratory projects.

Opening and talk

The openings will be accompanied by a talk titled Framing Problems / Biennale Tecnologia, featuring curators and institutional figures. The discussion will contextualize the exhibitions and highlight the role of cross-institutional partnerships in producing new works.

Diego Marcon — Krapfen (until 2 August 2026)

Diego Marcon presents Krapfen, a new production supported by the New Futures Production Fund. The piece blends cinematic language and sound, referencing genres such as horror, musical and melodrama within an experimental filmic structure. A youthful protagonist and a set of garments are choreographed to a musical composition, producing a mix of childlike imagery and unsettling tones.

  • Format: digital video, colour, sound, loop
  • Duration: 4 min 44 sec
  • Produced with international institutional partners

Xin Liu — EXHAUST (until 11 October 2026)

EXHAUST is the first institutional solo in Italy by Xin Liu, focused on the material remnants of technological and scientific ambition. The exhibition repurposes debris, degrading bioplastic and recovered fragments to reflect on obsolescence, landscape and evolving ecologies.

  • The White Stone (2021): a film documenting searches for rocket debris across remote desert areas.
  • The Map: Karamay (2026): a Vivomer tapestry (bioplastic from biomass waste) mapping the artist’s native city as a eroding living terrain.
  • The Lab: an operational archive with texts, diagrams and models on material transformation cycles.

June Crespo — Danzante (until 11 October 2026)

June Crespo presents Danzante, her first institutional show in Italy. The installation gathers sculptures and objects that engage bodily perception and spatial experience, prioritizing surfaces and textures over pictorial illusion. Materials range from plaster and bronze to concrete and scanned textiles, combining organic references with industrial processes.

  • Materials: bronze, steel, concrete, 3D scans, textiles
  • Approach: repetition and spatial choreography to prompt visitor movement and observation

Lenz Geerk — Theatre of the mind (until 11 October 2026)

Lenz Geerk offers Theatre of the mind, his first Italian solo focused on painting. The works create intimate, introspective atmospheres: textured colours and controlled modulation generate suspended images where meaning emerges from psychological tension rather than explicit narrative.

  • Focus: contemplative figurative painting
  • Themes: presence and absence, time and subjective perception
