Fondazione CRT: Anna Maria Poggi boosts culture, innovation and European funds

Anna Maria Poggi, president of Fondazione CRT since June 2024, underlines the evolving role of banking foundations as strategic engines for local development. According to Poggi, contemporary philanthropy goes beyond grants to foster networks, social innovation and sustainability, with a strong focus on leveraging European funds.

Resources and priorities for 2026

• Total resources allocated for 2026: €120 million, aimed at ordinary activities and extraordinary initiatives, complemented by funds set aside in 2025.
• Three strategic areas: Arts and Culture, Research and Education, Welfare and Territory.
• Support for innovation and start-ups through projects such as OGR Tech and collaborations with universities and research centers.

OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni) are highlighted as a flagship project: an open city hub combining technology, culture and enterprise, able to host multi-year programmes and attract investment. The Foundation also plans to bring the Philea Forum, the main European philanthropy event, to Turin to promote international exchange with tangible local benefits.

Focus on the EU funding cycle

Poggi stresses the priority of converting opportunities from the new 2028-2034 EU funding cycle into concrete territorial projects by fostering dialogue among institutions, local authorities, businesses and cultural actors. The strategy aims to combine finance, skills and networks to accelerate sustainable growth and social cohesion.
