Chiostro del Bramante launches "Flowers. Wonderful Nature", a renewed edition that broadens the exhibition's focus from the symbolism of flowers to nature in its entirety: an organic, changing universe where plant and animal forms, marine elements and diverse species coexist and interact. The exhibition stages a conversation between historical works and contemporary practices, including pieces created with recent technologies.

Exhibition layout

The itinerary is organized into three main sections that provide different perspectives:

• Art and ecology – works addressing the relationship between artistic expression and the environment;
• Art and science – juxtapositions of historic naturalistic representations with contemporary research, including dioramas and scientific materials;
• Art and politics – pieces that highlight how natural forms engage with social and political issues.

Works, loans and artists

The exhibition includes significant loans from prominent Italian public and civic collections, enhancing both historical and scientific narratives. Participating institutions include Biblioteca Casanatense, Villa Medicea di Poggio a Caiano, Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo (Brescia) and the Museo Civico di Zoologia (Rome).

Works range from the 17th century to contemporary practices and incorporate site-specific installations and AI-based pieces. Artists featured include Austin Young, Zadok Ben-David, Tamiko Thiel, Eugenio Tibaldi, Tracey Bush, Rob and Nick Carter, Ann Carrington, alongside historical artists such as Margherita Caffi, Filippo Napoletano and Pietro Neri Scacciati.

Family activities and educational services

The show offers a child-friendly route with lowered labels and a dedicated experimental room where children, supervised by adults, can make special flowers using supplied materials. The education department also runs school programs, family workshops, summer activities and inclusive visits by reservation, including LIS-guided and tactile tours.
