Tulip Festival 2026 in Castiglione del Lago: the "Cartoon Edition"

From 24 April to 2 May 2026 the village of Castiglione del Lago, on Lake Trasimeno, will host the 56th Tulip Festival renewed as the Cartoon Edition. The programme aims at families and local promotion, combining floral tradition with cartoon-inspired themes.

• Main attractions: allegorical floats covered with about one million real tulip petals, daytime parades, street performances and children’s activities.
• Key dates: daytime parades on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April; Night of the Tulip on 2 May, with a lakeside night parade, lights and music.
• Market and highlights: "Fiori e Passioni" craft market, the "Tulip Garden" under the Rondò with a panoramic wheel, and the traditional Tulip Tavern near Palazzo della Corgna.

Each float is the result of months of work by more than one hundred local volunteers, who build metal, wood and papier-mâché structures and decorate them with real petals. This year's theme draws on well-known cartoon characters to engage children while maintaining craftsmanship and the charm of the historic village.

Practical tips: use public transport on peak days to avoid parking issues, allow time for the market and to taste local specialties at the Tulip Tavern. The festival is an opportunity to explore the village, support local activities and enjoy spring in the Umbrian countryside.
