Mucciaccia Gallery presents Life Is Good, the first solo exhibition in Italy by Turkish artist Ezgi Günestekin. The show, held at via Laurina 31, features twenty works in acrylic and marker on canvas and is on view until 25 May 2026.
Günestekin's canvases display a figurative language shaped by architectural awareness and a careful construction of the image. Her figures do not function as straightforward portraits but appear as layered presences, crossed by bold marks that cut into the pictorial surface like scars.
The artist's practice focuses on emotional contrasts and inner complexity: figures, color, text and geometric forms interact to create fragmented narratives that invite viewers to build their own interpretations. The exhibition title, Life Is Good, acts as a fragile affirmation that acknowledges life's cracks and tensions rather than denying them.
Ezgi Günestekin (b. 1993, Batman, Turkey) studied architecture at Istanbul Bilgi University and furthered her education in Design Communication Arts at UCLA and in Fine Arts and Graphic Design at Otis College of Art & Design. Her architectural background and studies in the United States inform a visual approach that combines spatial thinking with painterly practice.
Life Is Good is an opportunity to encounter a contemporary voice from Turkey, presenting works that weave together bodily presence and formal construction. Recommended for visitors interested in contemporary figurative painting and the intersection of image and emotion.
