Ettore Scola in Rome: "Non ci siamo mai lasciati"

Period: 2 May – 13 September 2026
Venue: Museo di Roma – Palazzo Braschi, Piazza di S. Pantaleo 10, Rome

What to see

The exhibition traces Ettore Scola’s creative path through archival and visual material, many items shown for the first time. Highlights include:

  • Autograph documents: manuscripts, notes and annotated screenplays revealing the writing process;
  • Photographs and film clips: set images, portraits and archival footage situating Scola’s work in Italy’s cultural history;
  • Personal memorabilia: props and everyday objects connected to characters from his films;
  • Thematic sections: three exhibition areas dedicated to his satirical beginnings, his screenwriting career and his work as director.

Why visit

The show offers more than a tribute: it provides a perspective on twentieth-century Italian society through Scola’s critical eye. Recommended for film lovers, students and visitors interested in Rome’s role in national cinema.

Organization and curatorship

Curated by Silvia Scola and Alessandro Nicosia, the exhibition is produced by C.O.R. (Creare Organizzare Realizzare) with support from Zètema Progetto Cultura. Materials come from the family archive and institutions such as Rai Teche, Archivio Storico Luce and Cinecittà.
