Ettore Scola: exhibition at Museo di Roma (Palazzo Braschi)

When: 2 May – 13 September 2026
Where: Museo di Roma, Palazzo Braschi, Piazza San Pantaleo / Piazza Navona, Rome

The Museo di Roma at Palazzo Braschi presents "Ettore Scola. Non ci siamo mai lasciati", an exhibition exploring the life and work of one of Italy's most important filmmakers. The show guides visitors through themed sections featuring unpublished documents, photographs, original screenplays and personal items that illuminate Scola’s creative process and his relationship with the city of Rome.

Highlights

  • Unpublished materials: manuscripts, notes and annotated scripts revealing the director’s working methods.
  • Photographs and footage: on-set images, portraits and archival contributions that place the films in historical context.
  • Personal artifacts: props and everyday objects connected to Scola and figures from his films.
  • Thematic sections: three exhibition areas covering his satirical beginnings, screenwriting work and directing career.
