Palazzo dei Musei: 2026–2027 exhibition program

Following the strong turnout for the Giorgio De Chirico retrospective, the Palazzo dei Musei confirms its commitment to high-profile exhibitions. In partnership with Silvana Editoriale, the museum will host two international shows alternating photography and visual arts.

Upcoming exhibitions

  • Robert Doisneau – photographic retrospective: from 24 September 2026 to 24 January 2027. About 150 photographs from the Atelier Robert Doisneau collection in Montrouge, curated by Gabriel Bauret.
  • Hokusai and his time – exhibition on Edo-period painting and printmaking: scheduled for February–June 2027, curated by Francesco Paolo Campione, Marco Fagioli and Moira Luraschi, produced with the Museo delle Culture in Lugano.

Key information

The municipality renewed its collaboration with Silvana Editoriale to deliver a structured program in the museum's new wing. The public contribution is €130,000 spread across the two exhibitions, part of a wider strategy to enhance Modena's cultural offer and draw quality tourism.

The De Chirico show previously welcomed over 33,000 visitors in four months, demonstrating how targeted investments strengthen the city’s profile as a venue for significant exhibitions.
