“Dreaming in Art” at Palazzo Mathis: exploring Langhe and Roero’s creative multiverses

When: 10–26 April 2026. Vernissage: Friday 10 April, 17:30. Where: Palazzo Mathis, Piazza Caduti per la Libertà 20, Bra. Admission: free until capacity is reached.

The third edition of “Dreaming in Art” brings together five expressive languages—Digital, Sculpture, Painting, Photography and Writing—to offer a contemporary perspective on the landscapes and cultural communities of Langhe and Roero. The initiative, promoted by the Associazione Culturale Dreaming In Art in partnership with the Municipality of Bra and local institutions, encourages dialogue between artistic practices and the territory.

Highlights

  • Sculpture section: a posthumous tribute to Gioachino Chiesa with works in plaster, bronze and wood. This marks the first major return of his sculptures to his hometown, accompanied by unpublished notes and a narrative text performed by actor Paolo Tibaldi.
  • Digital section: immersive installation “Tuber magnatum” by Collettivo dell’Antimateria, curated by Diego Repetto, reflecting on art, place and immateriality.
  • Painting section: a selection of painters investigating contemporary identity and landscape.
  • Photography section: documentary and experimental photographic works focused on the territory.
  • Writing section: authors’ contributions that complement the exhibition with literary and reflective pieces.

Participating painters include Roberto Andreoli, Maura Boccato, Nadia Canevaro, Enzo Cattaneo, Giovanna Galizio, Franco Gotta, Petronija Makaveeva, Tore Milano, Ada Perona, Francesca Semeraro, Riccardo Testa and Andrea Zanninello. Photographers on show: Giovanni Gutamo and Paolo Vergnano. Writers contributing to the exhibition include Pino Berrino, Marina Panero with Wilma Basolo and Ivo Chiolerio, and Giovanni Repetto with Ettore Chiavassa.
